• We're #1!!

  Congratulations to the many GC Divers that helped contribute to our new title of the #1 Junior Diving Team in the USA. And a very special congrats goes to Emily Grund who placed 1st in the girls 11 & under Platform event at Jr Nationals (see article below). Emily's performance qualified her to represent the USA at the 2011 Jr Pan Am Games in Medellin, Columbia. Way to go Emily!!

• GC Divers Headed to 2012 Olympic Team Trials

  Congratulations to Brad Christensen, Bryce Klein, Roberto Ebersole, Shannon Lumbra, and Lauren Crown for qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Trials! The Trials will be held June 17-24, 2012 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.

• GC Divers Win 2011 Jr Diving Nationals!

  The victory came down to the final event of the day and GC Divers kept the lead to win by 4 points over Ohio State diving club. There were some amazing performances from our divers. As a result, we now have FIVE! divers qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials: Bryce Klein, Bradley Christensen, Roberto Ebersole, Shannon Lumbra, and Lauren Crown. Emily Grund (11 Under girls) also qualified to represent the USA at the 2011 Pan American games in Columbia by winning the girls platform event and placing 2nd on 3-meter.

  GC Divers had 27 divers qualify for the nationals from a series of Regional and zone competitions. On the end of the first day we were behind Ohio by 16 points because of their large number of synchro team points. We came back to tie it up the second day, and our third day was phenomenal. We had divers place 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the 16-18 boys contest and had a finalist (top 12) diver in each of the 6 events. We moved ahead by 23 points going into the last day. Ohio state diving club came back on the final day with their best events to almost overtake us. Key performances from our youngest divers held them off and we ended up wining by 4 points. It was definitely a team effort this year as many of our divers placed top 12 to earn team points and those who didn't qualify for finals were there cheering and supporting the team.   Three of our divers traveled to UCLA in Calif for the Senior Nationals held Aug 8-14th. As a synchro team, Bryce Klein and Brad Christensen made it finals and placed 4th.

  GC Divers train out of two local high school facilities: Southlake CISD Aquatics Center and Keller ISD Natatorium. We are able to use the platforms at SMU in the summer months. Our success is due to our fantastic coaching staff and a system which allows young divers to progress into the sport on a variety of levels from Novice to International competitions.

  Below are the top 10 teams in the overall and boy's categories that we won. Our girl's finished 4th overall!
